Tumbling blocks is a reference to the quilt pattern, named Tumbling Blocks. These woven and painted blocks are a 3d illusion, while the diamond shaped centers are woven in cotton optical patterns. The large triangular shapes and smaller triangles are painted black to give both direction and an inward visual pointing emphasis. The two section weaving is mounted on a wood backing and painted with the triangular images.
